Weekly Training Orders for the Week of May 21

Good work last night everyone, we have 2 more Wednesday evening practices until the big parade, and your hard work is showing! The LT last night was very impressed with the Advance and Review Order!

As always, please read the Weekly Training Orders below carefully:

1. Annual Dinner Tickets – Last chance to buy them on Wednesday

There will NOT be any dinner tickets sold at the door; we need to know numbers by next Wednesday to purchase food. See Mrs. Kalenuik, SSC Chair, at the Parents Table on Wednesday to purchase tickets ($15 for adults, $8 for cadets and children under 12).

2. Drill Team Tuesday @1900-2030hrs

3. Parade Night Wednesday

4. Annual Static Displays

Groups have already been assigned, and topics chosen. All displays are due in 2 weeks (Wednesday BEFORE Annual) to be graded by the Officers. There will not be anytime to work on them at cadets, so plan to get together with your group outside of cadets.

5. Sr NCOs – Be prepared to plan Dynamic Displays on Wednesday

Annual Ceremonial Review Invitations

A message for Parents/Guardians:

Wednesday night we handed out invitations to our upcoming Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR). For those of you who have never attended an ACR, it is the most important event of the training year. It is an opportunity for the cadets to display what they have learned over the year to their families and guests. It is also the opportunity for the Squadron to honour deserving cadets by presenting them with various awards. The parade also includes an inspection by this years Reviewing Officer (RO), Captain Devon Sensabaugh, CD.

The ACR is part of mandatory training (and listed on the Mandatory Events letter).  Cadets must attend this event in order to complete their training level, receive any related rank promotion, and participate in summer training. Only the Commanding Officer is authorized to excuse cadets: 87squadron@gmail.com

All parents/guardians, family, and friends are invited to attend the parade, which takes place at the cadet hall on June 2nd at 1400hrs. Cadets are expected to be there much earlier to begin practice and setup, more information will be coming in the next few weeks.

Following the ACR there will be an Awards Banquet at the Royal Canadian Legion in Welland, where cadets and family are invited to attend. The banquet is a ticketed event (tickets on sale starting Wednesday at the cadet hall) and includes a wonderful meal and various other awards for the cadets. The banquet is optional, but we encourage all cadets to attend.

Any questions please visit the office or email the squadron.

On behalf of the staff and sponsoring committee of 87, we look forward to celebrating your cadets achievements with you on June 2nd.
