Niagara Garrison Exercise Announcements

Hello parents,

We hope you’re as excited as we are about the Garrison event happening tomorrow. Here are some important updates and details:

Updates:

  1. Parent Dropoff: Please bring your cadets to Chippawa between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM (instead of just 5:00 PM).
  2. Cash for Canteen: Cadets should have $5 in cash for the canteen on Saturday. This $5 covers a set combo of items.
  3. Weather: The forecast predicts rain, so ensure your cadet has rain gear (ponchos are excellent, and you can find them at the Dollar Store). Additionally, pack extra warm clothing and socks. Cadets without the multi-purpose FTU boots should wear civilian winter boots or something similar.
  4. Nighttime: It will get cold at night, and the cadets will be sleeping in tents. Please make sure your cadet has extra warm blankets alongside their sleeping bag.
  5. Kit List: We’ve provided a kit list, so please ensure your cadet has all the items listed: Download Kit List

Niagara Challenger Exercise, 13–15 Oct 2023

All cadet families;

On 13–15 October we will be participating in the Niagara Challenger Field Training Exercise (FTX). This is a mandatory event for all cadets.

The FTX will be an opportunity to meet cadets from other units as a tri-service activity. Your cadet will learn archery, map and compass, survival skills, canoeing, and more, and will meet new friends, have fun, and build comradeship. This is an incredible opportunity for our cadets!

Below is the information for you to know for your cadet(s) and a signup form. Even though this is a mandatory activity, we are asking for cadets to sign-up in order to get accurate numbers. If you cannot attend: you must still tell the CO either in person or via 87air@cadets.gc.ca
