Information for Aviation/Range Weekend

Cadets need to be aware of the followng for the aviation/range weekend taking place on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7:

Drop off Time: Saturday, May 6 – INSTRUCTORS to arrive at 9:00 a.m. ALL OTHER CADETS to arrive at 9:30 a.m
Pick up Time: Sunday, May 7 – 12:00 p.m.

Cadets will require the following items:

HEALTH CARD
LUNCH FOR SATURDAY

– appropriate civilian clothing (no uniform required)
– warm jacket, winter hat and gloves (there will be some outdoor training taking place)
– refillable water bottle AND travel mug (for hot drinks)
– sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress (optional), pjs
– toiletry kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, towel, face cloth etc)
– notebook/paper and pen/pencil

You may wish to bring games and snacks for free time.

Upcoming Activities – Week of May 1

Monday, May 1 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 3 – Parade Night – Annual Ceremonial Review Practice Dress C2. It is important that all cadets are there to prepare and practice for the upcoming Annual Ceremonial Review. Practices take place outside on the taxi way so bring your jacket.

Parents Sponsoring Committee Annual General Meeting – 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Trailer beside Building #1. Drop off your cadet and head over to the meeting to find out the great things your Parents Sponsoring Committee has been working on. Tickets for the Annual Ceremonial Review Dinner will be on sale – Adults $15.00, cadets and children under 12 $8.00.

Saturday, May 6 – Start of Aviation/Range Mandatory Weekend. Cadets are to be dropped at the hall for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with their health card, lunch and items to stay overnight. Pick up will be noon Sunday. Instructor schedules will be posted.

Notes:

May 12 – 13 Western Ontario Drill Competition (timings still being finalized – we will be heading to London on Friday night and returning sometime Saturday)

Saturday, May 27 – Annual Ceremonial Review – Cadets will need to arrive at the hall for 8:00 a.m. to prepare and practice for the Review. The Review starts promptly at 2:00 p.m. Those cadets in attendance on Wednesday received invitations with all the details.

Upcoming Activities Week of April 24

Monday, April 24 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 26 – Parade Night Dress is C2. There will be an NCO meeting for all Sgts and above immediately following dismissal. Pick up time for those cadets will be 9:20 p.m.

Reminder – Gliding Today

Cadets are reminded to dress warmly for today’s gliding session at the Niagara District Airport – 468 Niagara Stone Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake. We will be outdoors – you will need a winter coat, hat, gloves and boots (it is not only cold but the ground is very wet).

Don’t forget your health card.

Drop off is 12:45 p.m. in the main terminal parking lot. Pick up time will be 5:00 p.m.
