DEPARTURE INFORMATION – 3 WEEK COURSE CADETS

Those cadets that are attending 3 week courses at both TRENTON and BLACKDOWN Cadet Training Centres will depart on:

SUNDAY, JULY 30
Departure Location: Pen Centre (in the parking lot north of the old Target Store)
Departure Timings: Arrive for 9:00 a.m (bus is scheduled to depart at 9:35 a.m.)

Cadets are to travel in uniform, arrive at the bus wearing “C5” Dress ONLY (No Tunic, Slip Ons, Tie or Name tag)

NOTE: You will need the following 3 items to be able to get on the bus:

1. Health Card,

2. A signed copy of your course Offer (Capt Norio will distribute Sunday morning), and

3. A completed and signed Cadet Transportation Form (included in the joining instruction booklet).

There are forms in the back of the joining instruction booklet to be completed which are required to be handed in upon arrival at the Training Centre.

Canada’s Wonderland Information and Summer Training Uniform Pickup

Canada’s Wonderland Information : Cadets to arrive at Centennial High School (240 Thorold Rd) at 8:30 a.m.
Cadets REQUIRE the following items: HEALTH CARD, HAT, SUNSCREEN, WATER BOTTLE, MONEY, SWIM SUIT AND TOWEL (if using the water park). It is suggested to bring a rain jacket and a change of clothes and shoes as they are calling for rain. Please note that no outside food or drink besides water is allowed in the park. Cadets will be provided with a meal voucher that they can use for either lunch or dinner. Departure from Canada’s Wonderland is at 7:00 p.m., pick up at Centennial approximately 8:30 p.m.. Cadets are encouraged to support the squadron and wear their squadron t-shirts.

Summer Training Uniform Pickup
Cadets attending summer training must pick up their summer training uniform and joining instructions on Monday, June 19 from 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. If you are unavailable during this time, please contact Captain Norio.

Car Wash and Bake Sale Important Information

Cadets:

Cadets are to meet at 8:30am tomorrow morning at the Canadian Tire in Welland. Pickup will be at 2:15pm. Cadets are to make sure they have:

  • Health card
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Squadron t-shirts

Lunch, extra water, and pop will be provided by the parents committee.

Parents:

Please drop off any donated baked goods for the bake sale tomorrow by 9:00am. Drop off your cadet, have your car washed for $5.00 and get some goodies to take home.

Upcoming Activities – Week of June 5

Wednesday, June 7 – Last Cadet Night – The cadets are requested to arrive for 5:30 p.m. in civilian attire with long pants as they will be going to the park for some games and then will be watching a movie. Don’t forget your water bottle and health card. Pick up time will be 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, June 10Squadron Car Wash & Bake Sale Fundraiser – Canadian Store Parking Lot 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cadets are requested to wear their squadron t-shirts. Community service hours will be given. Parents – We are looking for donations of baked goods to sell. Please bring baked goods to the Canadian Tire store for 9:00 a.m. if you would like to donate.

Drop off your cadet, have your car washed for $5.00 and get some goodies to take home.

Saturday, June 17 – Squadron Year End Trip – Canada’s Wonderland – We will leave from Centennial High School on Thorold Road at 8:30 a.m. and should return at approximately 9:30 p.m. (leaving Wonderland at 7:00 p.m.) Cadets will be provided with one meal voucher but will need money for dinner. A sign up sheet will be out on Wednesday. There is no cost for this trip; however, cadets are required to make a firm commitment to attend as we do need to purchase tickets. If cadets are not out on Wednesday but want to attend, please let Captain Norio know NO LATER THAN MONDAY, JUNE 12.

Monday, June 19 – Summer Camp Uniform Pick up – If you have been selected for a summer camp please come to the cadet hall between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. to pick up your summer camp uniform and joining instructions. Capt Norio will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Upcoming Activities – Week of May 29

Wednesday, May 29 – Sports Night – 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Wear appropriate sports attire and bring a water bottle.

Sunday, June 4 – Decoration Day Service – Welland Legion Branch 4, 383 Morningstar Avenue. Cadets to arrive in full uniform for 12:30 p.m. in the back parking lot. Pick up time will be approximately 2:45 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing lots of cadets out to support the Legion and be part of this important remembrance service.
