OPC Lottery – Parents Survey

The Parents Sponsoring committee is asking all parents to please fill out the following survey regarding the OPC Lottery:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Y995ZNB

We’re conducting a survey and your input would be appreciated. At the meeting between the OPC Board of Governors, Directors, SSC and associated DND personnel in August of 2016 at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, a significant number of those in attendance indicated that they favoured investigating replacing the lottery as a means of raising funds for both OPC and the SSC. This survey is designed to gauge your support for keeping, or eliminating, the OPC lottery. The earliest that any change can be implemented would be the 2018 – 2019 cadet training year.

First Night Back – Tomorrow (Sept 6, 2017)

It’s that time of year again, our first night back is tomorrow night (Wednesday, September 6, 2017). I hope everyone had a wonderful summer!

Tomorrow’s parade night will be civilian clothes (no uniforms), and we encourage you to wear either your squadron t-shirts or camp wear.

We are excited to see everyone tomorrow, and a quick reminder that next week is our Open House.

NCO Meeting Night – Thursday August 31 @ 1900hrs

Attention all NCO’s (Cadets going into Level 3 and up): We are having an NCO Meeting Night on Thursday, August 31 from 1900hrs to 2030hrs at the Cadet Hall.

No uniforms. Make sure to bring notebooks, writing utensils, and your ideas.

Information for Parents Picking Cadets Up at the Training Centres

For those parents planning to pick up their cadets from the various training centres, cadets will be able to be signed out immediately following the graduation parades. Graduation Parade timings can be found in the Joining Instruction booklets (hard copies were provided to all cadets otherwise the links are on an earlier post). In Trenton there will be tables set up at the back of the parade square where you will fill out the required paperwork to have your cadet released. In Blackdown cadets will head back to their tent lines and you will fill out the required paperwork there. For your reference, the Graduation Parades are usually about 1 – 1.5 hours in length.

PLEASE NOTE: IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED FOR YOU TO SIGN OUT YOUR CADET.
