Gliding update

Weather is holding up! we are still a go for Gliding today, please ensure that you bring warm attire as it will be cold and windy at the airport. Bring snacks and water for your self as well.

Good morning all, I will be posting around noon if its  a no go for today’s gliding on Niagara-on-the-Lake. Just to keep everyone updated. Please check the website before leaving to go to the airport. 

Weekly Routine Orders for Week of Sept 23-29

Here is the WROs (Weekly Routine Orders) and reminders for upcoming activities:

1. Parade Night – Tonight

Dress: C2 (Routine Training Dress)
Duty Officer: OCdt Silva
Duty NCO: Cpl Hulley (See office on arrival)

2. Leadership Training Day – Saturday September 29th – All Levels

All cadets are reminded about an upcoming mandatory Leadership Training Day for all levels this Saturday.


  • Timing: 0800–1630hrs
  • Location: 87 LHQ
  • Dress: Civilian, rank slip-ons and name tags optional.
  • Bring: Health cards, notebooks, and writing utensils.

3. Gliding – Sunday September 30th

All cadets that have signed up for gliding please note the following information:

  • Timing: 1300–1700hrs
  • Location: CARES/CASARA Building at the Niagara District Airport (See below)
  • Bring: Health Card, water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, hat, and dress for the weather (see note below).
  • Parents: May come and request to take photos, please see flight staff on arrival.

Drop-Off Location:
CARES/CASARA building (Not the main terminal building)

Parking is available directly across the street from the CARES/CASARA building.

Weather:
As a reminder, please ensure you are dressed for the weather.  The grass is typically wet and soggy in the mornings, so proper footwear needs to be worn.  The air temperature and wind are also typically not the same as in the city, so again, please ensure appropriate outer wear is present.  Cadets not dressed appropriately for the weather conditions may be required to stay off of the airfield.
