Niagara Air Group Sports Competition

The cadets did very well at the Niagara Air Group Sports Competition held on Saturday, January 30, 2016. The squadron placed 3rd overall out of the nine local area squadrons and came in 1st place in European Handball. It was a fun-filled day for everyone.

Saturday, January 30 – Niagara Air Group Sports Competition at Dunnville Secondary School. Bus will be at the cadet hall at 7:30 a.m. approximate return time of 4:30 p.m. Cadets are expected to be in appropriate gym attire, have indoor shoes, water bottle and HEALTH CARD. Lunch is provided and a canteen will be available. If you signed up, don’t let your team down, SHOW UP!!!

Tuesday, February 2 – Range Team 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cadet Hall. The following cadets have qualified to return for an additional try-out: (First Name,Last Initial and Rank)

Wednesday, February 3- Regular Parade Nights – Uniforms were not great this past week. Be proud of your uniform, press it AND POLISH YOUR BOOTS. You should be working on exceeding the standards of the Air Cadet Dress Regulations (on the website under Resources). Some points – hair cuts (must be to the standard, not touching ears for males), females – one earring per ear, no nail polish, hair back in a bun fastened with a hair net, ties – tied properly and straight. When you are in uniform these requirements MUST BE MET.

Saturday, February 6 – Training Day – 8:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Bring your own lunch.
Cadet Gala – 5:30 – 11:00 p.m. St. Catharines Armoury (If you want a ticket, contact Capt Norio ASAP)

Weekly Activities – Week of January 25

Tuesday, January 26 – Range Team Try-Outs 6:30 – 8:30 at the Cadet Hall- Open to all cadets. Final team will consist of three senior cadets and two junior cadets for the competition scheduled for Saturday, February 20. Wear comfortable civilian clothing and bring your HEALTH CARD. This will be the last “open” practice as we start working towards team selections.

Wednesday, January 27 – Regular Parade Night – Uniforms should be AWESOME given that you have had two weeks to work on them.

If you are planning on attending the Cadet Gala on Saturday, February 6 hosted by 128 Thorold Squadron, please bring your money to purchase tickets. Tickets are $20.00 each for buffet dinner and dance. You are able to bring a guest.

Thursday, January 28 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 -8:30 p.m at the Cadet Hall – Don’t forget your wedge and boots.

Saturday, January 30 – Niagara Air Group Sports Competition at Dunnville Secondary School. Bus will leave the cadet hall at 7:30 a.m. with a return time of approximately 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Cadets are required to wear appropriate gym attire including INDOOR SHOES, HAVE A WATER BOTTLE AND HEALTH CARD. Cadets are welcome to bring their own snacks and a canteen will be available.

DRILL TEAM PRACTICES

Drill Team practices are still being held every two weeks. THERE IS NOT A PRACTICE TONIGHT.

The next practice will be THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Practices will continue to be every two weeks until the end of February when they will change to weekly.
