Reminder – Tagging

Cadets will be tagging on Wednesday, March 23, Thursday, March 24 and Saturday, March 26. Sign up sheets will be available tonight – this will be the only opportunity to sign up as there isn’t cadets next week due to March Break. All cadets are reminded that there is a requirement to complete 3 tagging shifts unless alternate arrangements have been made with the CO. The funds raised from tagging are used for things like the March Break trip – maximum participation is encouraged.

**RETURN OF OPC TICKETS** If you have not yet returned your tickets THEY MUST BE RETURNED ON WEDNESDAY so they can be returned to OPC for the draw.

Thursday, March 10 – Sports at Youngs Sportsplex (off Woodlawn) 6:30-7:30 p.m.(1 HOUR ONLY) Make sure you are wearing appropriate sports attire, have a water bottle and your HEALTH CARD.

Level 4 Cadets – Homework Assignment from last week due. Complete attachment J to M436.02 and EO M436.02 – Describe Air Masses and Fronts (For those Level 4 cadets that were not present last week, please print attachment J to M436.02 from the Level 4 IG). **Assignments are due to the office prior to opening parade.**

Tuesday, February 23 – Drill Team practice at the Cadet Hall 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bring your boots and wedges.
(Note – now that Range practice is finished, Drill Team practice will take place every Tuesday)

Wednesday, February 24 – Regular Parade Night –

For those cadets that expressed an interest in competing in the Effective Speaking Competition being held on Saturday, March 5th, there will be an impromptu speech competition to decide the two cadets (and a spare) that will go to the competition. The impromptu speech rules indicate you will be given your topic and will have 3 minutes to prepare your at least 2 minute and not more than 3 minute impromptu speech. If you have questions, please see Captain Norio at the beginning of the night.

Saturday, February 6 – Mandatory Training Day – Cadets are to be at the Cadet Hall for 8:30 a.m. dressed in appropriate civilian attire, have a lunch, water bottle and HEALTH CARD. Pick up time is 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 6 – Cadet Gala – for those cadets that purchased tickets ONLY. The Gala starts at 5:30 p.m. and pick up time is 11:00 p.m. Lake Street Armoury St. Catharines (corner of Lake Street and Welland Avenue)

Tuesday, February 9 – Range Team Practice – 6:30 -8:30 p.m. Only for those cadets that were invited to attend.

Wednesday, February 10 – Regular Parade Night

Thursday, February 11 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wear your boots and bring your wedges.

Notes:

Letters were handed out tonight regarding the upcoming March Break Trip. Trip will take place from Monday, March 14 to Thursday, March 17. Cost is $100.00 and money is due no later than March 2, 2016.

Air Cadet League Effective Speaking Competition

For those cadets interested in participating the competition is Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 62 Grimsby Air Cadet Squadron. Topics this year are:
