  2. We will not be eating dinner on Friday night, only light snacks will be provided, so make sure to eat dinner before boarding the bus.
  3. In case you need to contact your cadet: Parents that need to contact their cadet throughout the weekend are encouraged to email 87squadron@gmail.com. There will be a phone for emergency use only which goes directly to the officer in charge: 289-783-1942. All other issues, please email instead.

Gliding Tomorrow CANCELLED

Unfortunately due to forecasted high winds tomorrow at the airport, the flying centre has had to cancel gliding for the day. As always, safety is the number one priority. Our squadron glides a minimum of twice per year, and are scheduled to glide again in the fall.

The SSC (Squadron Sponsoring Committee) wants to remind everyone that the Big Red Meats Fundraiser is due tonight. Still looking at putting in an order? Print off a copy of the form – here!

4. Parade Night – Wednesday

We are planning to parade outside all night starting Annual Ceremonial Review practice: Make sure to bring coats and gloves, and base your decision for layers based on the forecasted weather that evening, and understanding that the weather is always colder and windier at the airport than in the city.

5. Gliding – Saturday 1300hrs to 1700hrs

All cadets that have signed up for gliding (sign up sheets will be up on Wednesday until the list fills up) please note the following information:

Location: 87 LHQ
Timing: 1300hrs
Bring: Health Card, water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, hat, and dress for the weather (see note below).
Parents: May come and request to take photos, please see flight staff on arrival.

Weather:
As a reminder, please ensure you are dressed for the weather.  The grass is typically wet and soggy in the mornings, so proper footwear needs to be worn.  The air temperature and wind are also typically not the same as in the city, so again, please ensure appropriate outer wear is present.  Cadets not dressed appropriately for the weather conditions may be required to stay off of the airfield.
