Weekly Routine Orders for the Week of April 28–May 4

All;

Here are the routine orders for this week:

1. Drill Team – Tuesday

Timing: 1845hrs
Bring: Wedge, boots, health card

2. Parade Night – Wednesday

We are beginning Annual Ceremonial Review practice as of this Wednesday.

Dress: C2
Duty Officer: TBA
Duty NCO: TBA

3. Parents/Guardians: SSC Annual General Meeting – Wednesday

Who: Parents/Guardians and SSC Members
Timing:
Wednesday May 1 at 6:30PM
Location: Airport Administration Trailer (Directions available at the cadet hall)

As always, all parents are invited to attend all SSC meetings at the beginning of each month. May 1st is especially important as it is the AGM. The SSC wishes to invite any parent/guardian interested to attend the meeting after they drop off their cadet(s).

For those that may not know, the Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is made up of parents/guardians of current and former cadets and is charged with maintaining the building, fundraising, screening volunteers, and more. The SSC is vital to our local unit and requires parents/guardians like you to get involved anyway you can. Without the SSC, we would not have a squadron.

4. Spring FTX – Friday at 1700hrs to Sunday at 1200hrs

Timing: Friday 1700hrs – Sunday 1200hrs
Location: Camp Wetaskiwin, 3072 Scout Camp Rd, St. Catharines, ON L2R 6P7
Bring: See Kit List for details

Please see the full Permission Slip for details. It is very important that you read the permission slip and kit list, sign, and bring the permission slip with your cadet. Cadets without their permission slips and health cards will not be able to attend the weekend.

Important:

  1. Dinner Friday: We will not be eating dinner on Friday night, only light snacks will be provided, so make sure to eat dinner before arriving.
  2. Emergency Contact Info: Parents that need to contact their cadet throughout the weekend are encouraged to email 87eagle.trgo@gmail.com. There will be a phone for emergency use only which goes directly to the training officer: 289-783-1942.
  3. Drop-off/Pick-up: Drop-off and pick-up will be at Camp Wetaskiwin
  4. Weather: We will be training rain or shine (hopefully shine), but either way, cadets MUST be prepared for the weather. A wet, soggy cadet, with improper footwear, clothing, rain gear, and sleeping gear will not be happy, and will be sent home.
  5. Sleeping: We are sleeping outside in tents provided by 87.
  6. Permission Slip and Kit List: Download Permission Slip & Kit List

Enjoy your week everyone;

Lt C. Bowman
Commanding Officer
