Activities for the Week of April 23

Saturday, April 23 – Gliding – Be at the Cadet Hall for 12:45 p.m. with your HEALTH CARD, water bottle, warm jacket, winter hat and gloves. It will be colder out on the airfield than in the city and the temperature tomorrow is going to be cooler. Cadets will be on the airfield for approximately 3 hours so dressing warmly cannot be stressed enough – cadets not dressed appropriately will be sent home. IF YOU WERE NOT OUT ON WEDNESDAY TO SIGN UP YOU CAN STILL ATTEND. Gliding should be completed around 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 26 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Bring a jacket, wedge and boots.

Wednesday, April 27 – Regular Parade Night

Saturday, April 30 – May 1 – Training Weekend – Cadets are to arrive at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cadet Hall with a bagged lunch and their HEALTH CARDS and items to stay overnight (sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, etc.). The weekend will finish at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Activities – Week of April 16

Saturday, April 16 – Annual Bowl-A-Thon – 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Kingsway Bowling Alley 215 Riverside Drive (don’t forget your pledge sheets)

Tuesday, April 19 – Drill Team Practice 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Bring your boots, wedges and warm clothing so we can practice outside.

Wednesday, April 20 – Regular Parade Night – bring a jacket, we will be outside! Our Annual Ceremonial Review is coming up (invitations will be handed out to the cadets tonight), if you need new uniform parts (items too small??) see the Supply Officer.

Saturday, April 23 – Gliding 12:45-4:30 at the Cadet Hall. Only 20 spots and priority will be given to Level 1 cadets. A sign up sheet will be available on Wednesday.

Wednesday, May 4 – PARENTS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Trailer at the Airport (beside Building # 1). Come out and get details about summer training, the Annual Ceremonial Review and Dinner and get an update from your Sponsoring Committee. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

May 7 – 8 – Western Ontario Area Drill Competition – we are currently scheduled to depart on Saturday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m. and return at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. Tentatively we are scheduled to compete at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Wednesday, April 6 – Parade Night – with Commanding Officers Parade – make sure your uniforms look GREAT!!

Saturday, April 9 – Niagara Air Group Drill Competition – 809 Squadron 1665 Four Mile Creek Road (Old Virgil Public School – entrance off Field Road). Details regarding timings to be provided later this week.

FINAL REMINDER – OPC TICKETS

OPC tickets are now long overdue. The tickets are due in Toronto on March 31. If you have yet to return your tickets, we will be at the Seaway Mall Tagging Headquarters until 5:00 p.m. today or contact Mrs. Kelder to make arrangements to have them picked up at 905-347-3794.

If books are not returned the squadron still needs to pay for them and report them as lost.
