In-person stand-down extended until the end of January

All;

This week we were schedule to resume in-person training on Wednesday. With the current government restrictions and the changing state of the virus, CJCR Central (Cadet & Junior Canadian Rangers Central Region (Ontario)) has ordered an extended stand-down of all in-person activities until at least the end of January. The situation will be reevaluated during the week of Jan 24.

From now until then, I will be hosting a summer training info sessions for all cadets and families. Details are coming.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience. Stay safe,

Capt C. Bowman
Commanding Officer

Cadets tonight is cancelled, as we start the holiday stand-down

All;

With the rapid progression of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, we have decided to cancel the Christmas/holiday party tonight and start the holiday stand-down one week early.

On behalf of all the staff and volunteers at 87 Eagle, from the CIC to the SSC, I wish all our cadet families a very happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

At this time of year, the Royal Canadian Air Force has the distinct honour of escorting the big man in red. The CF-188 Hornet, as a multi-role fighter, can travel at speeds of up to 1.8 mach (or 2222.64 km/h). Because of its power, speed and target-tracking capabilities, it has had great success in many military operations in Canada and around the world. Enjoy the following documentary on the hard work our women and men in the RCAF do for the folks in the most northern region of Canada. The only question remains, what’s faster? The Sled, or the Hornet?

Enjoy the break, take time to reflect on the year, and see everyone back in January.
