New Cadets – Required Information

If you are a new cadet and have submitted your paperwork, please bring your health card and birth certificate or passport to the Office for photocopying. Without this information we can’t finish processing your file which will delay you being able to get your uniform.

Tagging this Weekend

All;

Thank you to all the cadets that signed up for tagging this weekend. It is the single biggest fundraiser we run, and contributes a significant amount of capital to fund training, keeping the building running, and allowing us to do extra activities like visiting the Aviation Museum in Hamilton, weekend trips away from home, and more.

However, we do not have enough cadets on Saturday. I encourage all cadet families to try and find some time this Saturday for your cadet to help out the Squadron and their fellow cadets. Anyone that is available on Saturday and didn’t already sign up, please email 87air@cadets.gc.ca to let us know you can. Shift timing is outlined below.

Here is a recap of information for tagging:

1. Tagging is a mandatory activity for all cadets.

2. Cadets stand in front of popular locations (such as Seaway Mall, Walmart, etc.) around Welland and hand out “tags” in exchange for a donation to our Squadron; and,

3. Cadets are expected to sign up for a minimum of 2 shifts, and are encouraged to sign up for more.

Parents/Guardians:

Please come in with your cadet as we will need you to drive them to their tagging location and pick them up 15 mins before the end of their shift to return to Tagging HQ.

Cadets:

1. If you have signed up for a tagging shift, it is important to be there;

2. You are to be in full uniform (C3), that includes tunic and wedge. Bring a jacket (cadet or civilian), gloves (preferably black), and toque in case it gets cold. Always better to be prepared;

3. Eating and drinking while tagging is strictly prohibited unless on break, away from your post;

4. Cell phone use is strictly prohibited unless used for coordinating box pick up, ride, or in the case of an emergency; and,

5. SSC members and Officers will be circulating locations in case you need a new box or anything else. An emergency contact number (905-732-2083) will be provided to every cadet.

Tagging HQ (Dropoff/Pickup location)
