Good afternoon everyone,

A couple of reminders for tonight:

1. Tonight is the final Parent Sponsoring Committee meeting of 2023. All parents are invited to join in Classroom 3 (upstairs, end of the hall).
2. Tonight is also our annual Ugly Holiday Sweater party for the cadets! Remember, no uniforms.

All cadet families,

A reminder to all cadet families that a Squadron Sponsoring Committee meeting will be held tonight starting at 6:30 PM in Classroom 3 (upstairs, end of the hall). We will be discussing the Holiday Mess Dinner.

All parents (new and current) are encouraged to attend!

We have some orders that have not been picked up yet. They will be available until 8pm latest at Canadian Tire Service Centre.

All families,

Your Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is made up of parents of current/former cadets and is responsible for much of the day-to-day funding of our local program.

DND provides funding for Officers/Staff, summer training, Area Directed Activities etc. The balance of the funding for the program are local costs your SSC is responsible for to “keep the lights on”. They include:

1. Building maintenance, improvements, insurance, and utilities
2. Field trips (such as to the Hamilton Warplane Museum)
3. End of year trips
4. Sports night activities
5. Training weekend activities
6. Other training supplies not provided by DND
7. Paying the Yearly Assessment fee from the Air Cadet League for each cadet

Yearly Assessment Fee

One of our big costs every year is the Air Cadet League’s cadet assessment fee. Each year we ask cadet families to help us cover this cost.

No young person will ever be turned away from the Cadet Program for financial reasons. With that said, we are asking families to donate the amount of $150 to help offset the Assessment Fee.

For families that would like financial assistance, please reach out Owen or Rob at the parents table, or email ssc@87eagle.ca.

For those who have paid the assessment fee, thank you!

For those still looking to do so, payment of the Assessment fee can be made by cash or cheque to the SSC Treasurer, Owen Gifford, or can be made through Direct E-Transfer to the email treasurer@87eagle.ca (email is set up for direct deposit, so no security question is needed, and please add the Cadet(s) name in the comment section).
