Just announced from National Cadets: Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in flexible, voluntary training opportunities either independently at their own pace or in facilitated sessions. This summer will be about engagement and flexibility while continue to focus on the cadet experience:

5-weeks of summer training activities

What: Cadets will be able to take five weeks of distance learning activities during the summer, for about two to three hours per week.

Choices: The choice of the 22 activities are listed on the Cadet Learning Facebook Group. (Also attached)

Registration opens: Monday, 29 June at 1100hrs EST and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

To register: Cadets will need to send an email to their Regional Cadet Support Unit (RCSU) at RCSUCentral@Cadets.gc.ca with the following information:

  • Last Name
  • First Name
  • Corps / Squadron Number (87)
  • Corps / Squadron element (Air)
  • Name of the activity you wish to register for.
  • Dates of serial you wish to register for.
  • The language you would like the activity delivered in;
  • Phone number (will be use as a second factor authentication for your online account)
  • A email address that the cadet has access to; and
  • Instrument selection for cadets registering for the music course

Important: Cadets’ email must send from their personal email address or an email that they can access.  A parent email, that the cadet cannot access, should not be used.

Acceptance: Cadets will be contacted once they are loaded on an activity, and provided instructions on how to log in to the learning tools required to participate in the activity.

Please ignore the previous email/Facebook update; it was an accidental repost of last weeks Training Orders. Below is the orders for today (June 13, 2018):

1. Last Parade Night of the Training Year – Tonight

No uniforms, come in appropriate civilian attire.

Weekly Training Orders for the Week of June 4

Quick update this week:

1. No drill team tonight

Drill Team practice is complete for the 2017-18 training year. Thank you to the Drill Team for your hard work and dedication to the team, it paid off on Annual!

2. Parade Night on Wednesday – Out of Uniform

Sports night this Wednesday. Regular time.

Reminder: Annual Ceremonial Review Tomorrow

All cadets are to be at the cadet hall at 0800hrs Saturday morning with:

  • Water bottle
  • Health card
  • Civilian clothing suitable for weather forecast
  • Bring uniform in garment: based on the weather it looks like we will be in C1 (Full dress), however, please be prepared for summer dress
  • Static displays
  • Have had breakfast (not provided)

Other important points:

  • Cadets to arrive in civilian clothing for practice, and will be getting changed after lunch into the uniform of the day
  • Parents/Guardians/Guests are to arrive at 1330 (to grab seating) ready for 1400hrs parade start
  • Lunch will be provided for cadets

Work on uniforms tonight, especially BOOTS!
We will not have time to work on uniforms tomorrow so make sure to work on your boots tonight, and make sure everything is clean and ironed.

Weekly Training Orders for the Week of May 21

Good work last night everyone, we have 2 more Wednesday evening practices until the big parade, and your hard work is showing! The LT last night was very impressed with the Advance and Review Order!

As always, please read the Weekly Training Orders below carefully:

1. Annual Dinner Tickets – Last chance to buy them on Wednesday

There will NOT be any dinner tickets sold at the door; we need to know numbers by next Wednesday to purchase food. See Mrs. Kalenuik, SSC Chair, at the Parents Table on Wednesday to purchase tickets ($15 for adults, $8 for cadets and children under 12).

2. Drill Team Tuesday @1900-2030hrs

3. Parade Night Wednesday

4. Annual Static Displays

Groups have already been assigned, and topics chosen. All displays are due in 2 weeks (Wednesday BEFORE Annual) to be graded by the Officers. There will not be anytime to work on them at cadets, so plan to get together with your group outside of cadets.
