Jumpstart Carwash and BBQ tomorrow in Welland

All cadet families;

Canadian Tire in Welland is hosting its annual carwash and BBQ in support of Jumpstart. In the past, we have had cadets volunteer, however, with current restrictions we are unable to have cadets participate.

With that said, we are looking for people with dirty cars and anyone that wants to volunteer their time to help an awesome cause!

What: Car wash, BBQ, raffle table
Timing: 10am—2pm

Summer Training Joining Instructions

To get ready for summer training:

You need to be setup on the new Cadet365 platform. This replaces our 87eagle.ca Teams.

  1. Get rid of the old accounts: Logout of your [username]@87eagle.ca on all your devices. We will no longer be using this account going forward
  2. Check your email for your new account: You will have received an email on 1-Jun (check your spam folder) with your username and password (username will look like [firstinitiallastname1234]@cadets.gc.ca)
  3. Cannot find the email? If you did not receive this email, you may already have had an account setup from last summer or it didn’t reach you. Send an email to 87air@cadets.gc.ca to request an account.
  4. Login to Cadet365: Login in to teams.microsoft.com with your new Cadet365 credentials. Add this to all the devices you want to use for Cadet training and communication. There are mobile apps and desktop apps (search for Microsoft Teams).

Travel itineraries are coming soon, and will be sent out to cadet and parent emails on file.

Cadet Parent meeting, this Wednesday

All cadet families;

The SSC will be holding the Annual General Meeting, for all cadet parents and stakeholders of 87 Eagle Squadron.  The evening will include voting on the Board Member positions: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary, as well as several additional positions, (Building Maintenance, Fundraising Coordinator, etc.) There will also be updates on the ongoing Squadron Activities (from the Command Staff), SSC financials update, fundraising initiatives, and general information.

We will also discuss Summer Training and startup for the 2022-2023 training season in September, and what a normal training year should look like.

All parents are invited to come to the Cadet Hall at:

Refreshments and snacks will also be available.  Looking forward to seeing you all!

Reminders for tomorrow

All;

To get ready for tomorrow, senior cadets have posted a Must Do list on Teams.

Important details for tomorrow:

Cadets are to come in civilian clothing in the morning for practice, with their uniforms and boots in a bag. We will then change into uniforms after lunch (provided). Cadet families and guests will join us at approximately 1345hrs for the parade to commence at 1400hrs.

Timing: Arrive at 0830hrs, dismissal after cleanup around 1600hrs
Breakfast: Eat before you arrive
Lunch: Provided (pizza)

Bring:

  • C1A uniform parts in a garment bag:
    • Tunic with belt
    • Blue shirt
    • Undershirt
    • Pants
    • Wedge
    • Socks
    • Medals and pins
    • Name tag
    • Black tie
    • Black belt
  • Parade boots (not combat boots)
