Upcoming Activities: Orienteering, Uniform Night, and more

As we get closer to closing out the cadet year, we have a lot of extra activities happening to get us ready. Here is a recap of the announcements from last night:

Drill Team Practice

Timing: 1830-2000hrs
Dress: Civilian, with boots and wedge

Uniform Swap

Any cadet needing uniform parts swapped, or fitted into a new uniform is welcome to stop by between 1830-1730hrs.


SAT (27)

Orienteering Training Exercise

All cadets are invited to attend the Orienteering Training Exercise on Saturday. We will be doing a scavenger hunt with prizes using map and compasses. Lunch will be provided.

Timing: 0900-1300hrs
Dress: FTU
Bring: Health card, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray

First Aid Team Practice

Timing: 1830-2000hrs
Dress: Civilian

Uniform Prep Night

All cadets are invited to the uniform prep night.

Timing: 1830-2000hrs
Dress: Civilian

Annual Dinner Tickets and Trip Deposit

Annual Dinner Tickets

Reminder that tomorrow night is the last time to buy Annual Dinner Tickets. The Annual Dinner is an optional, ticketed event after the Annual Ceremonial Review. The Review is at 1400hrs, and the Dinner is at 1630hrs. More information about the dinner.

To buy your tickets, see CV Owen Gifford at the Parents Table during the night.

Amount: $8 per cadet, $8 per child under 12, $15 per adult.
Accepted form of payment: E-transfer or cash

Year End Trip Deposit

To secure your spot for the year-end trip, a $50 cash deposit per cadet is required. It will be returned in full after the trip. There are 2 more weeks left to submit the deposit. Please note, the sign up form previously used does NOT secure your spot, you must pay the deposit to do so. More information about the trip.

Year-end Trip Sign Up

Cadets will be staying overnight at the Skyline Hotel & Waterpark in Niagara Falls, and then spending Saturday at the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. Breakfast and lunch on Saturday included. Parent drop-off and pick-up in Niagara Falls.

Due to the cost of the trip, we are requiring a refundable deposit to hold your cadets spot. This money will be given back after the trip. Cash only. CV Owen Gifford will be at the Parents Table on Wednesdays collection money for the trip and for the Annual Banquet Dinner.

Drop-off: 1700 hrs Friday, June 2
Pick-up: 1800 hrs Saturday, June 3
Location: Skyline Hotel & Waterpark, 4800 Bender St, Niagara Falls
Deposit: $50 cash-only per cadet (will be returned after trip), paid to CV Owen Gifford at the Parents Table by May 31st.

Annual Dinner Tickets and Parents Meeting Tonight

Annual Dinner Tickets

Please note that the RSVP listed on the bottom of the Annual Invite is not the same as the purchasing tickets.

Tickets are available tonight (before and after training) at the back Parents Table. See CV Owen Gifford.

The Annual Dinner is great chance for cadet families to meet and enjoy a meal together, and will include additional year-end awards, promotions, and medals for the cadets. It is highly encouraged for each family to attend, or at least, have the cadet attend.

Tickets are limited, so please make sure to grab them sooner than later. The last day to grab your tickets is next week.

Parents Meeting Tonight

There is an Squadron Sponsoring Committee meeting for all cadet families tonight starting at 6:30, upstairs, to discuss the Annual Ceremonial Review, Annual Dinner Banquet, and start planning for next year. Attendance is encouraged.

Earth Day Cleanup Tomorrow

The timing for the Earth Day cleanup activity for tomorrow has changed to 1200hrs pick up time (it was 1300hrs).
